David and I celebrated our fifth anniversary on October 7th, and to celebrate, we spent the weekend visiting Sequoia and King’s Canyon National Parks. We spent two whole days hiking, climbing, and admiring the beauty around us. Just our style of celebration. (Hint: if you just want to read about the big 30 list item, you can skip all these fabulous pictures and just go to the end.)
First we climbed this, Moro Rock:
It was over 350 grueling steps. Well, grueling for me, and downright painful for my knee. David was just scared I was going to fall over the edge.
Next we visited Crystal Cave, a super cool developed cave carved from marble. Yucca Creek runs through it, and it was pretty amazing.
Then we drove through a big tree. And then we looked up at a lot of other really big trees. And walked through a big tree. We saw a bear!
The next day we drove to the end of King’s Canyon and picnicked at Zumwalt Meadow.
Finally, tired and happy, we left Three Rivers behind us.
Anyway, what does this all have to do with my list? Not much, I just wanted to share. But it is loosely connected, in that I finished one of my projects before we left. Remember, I’m supposed to finish 11 unfinished projects before I’m thirty? I thought our five-year anniversary was a good time to finish our wedding scrapbook. Right? I mean, come on. And I worked really hard to finish it. I’m no scrap-booker, and I don’t think I’ll ever make another one, but I wanted something to commemorate the day. So I had maybe two pages mostly finished, and now it’s maybe 30 pages? I don’t know, I didn’t count, but I’m pleased with how it turned out. And that’s one project finished. Only 10 more to go!
Thanks, honey, for five fantastic years. This marriage thing is pretty great.
Those are some awesome photos! I still haven’t seen any of your wedding photos except for a couple shot with the disposable cameras.
Well next time I see you, I’ll have to pull out the photo album and the scrapbook, now that I’ve finally got them put together.
